Bending is the most commonly used pipe bending method. According to different pipe bending equipment, it can be divided into two types: manual bending and machine bending. Manual bending requires no special pipe bending equipment, simple pipe bending device, low manufacturing cost, easy adjustment and use, but high labor intensity and low productivity. It is mainly used in small batch production. The pipe bender can be divided into core bender and coreless bender according to its core rod.

There are many methods for pipe bending. According to the bending forming method, it can be divided into roll bending, pressure bending, pushing bending and winding bending; according to whether the mold is used when bending, it can be divided into mold bending and non-molding bending; according to the presence or absence of core rods can be divided into core bending and non-core bending. According to whether heating during bending can be divided into cold bending and hot bending. In recent years, new pipe bending technologies such as zero-radius bending, intermediate frequency induction bending, thermal stress bending and laser forming bending have also appeared.
The mandrel-type hot-bend pipe is pushed on a special pusher under the axial thrust through a horn core mandrel and pushed while heating to make the tube blank expand circumferentially and deform axially. The blank is pushed into a larger diameter elbow.
Roll bending is a method of bending the pipe with three rollers. However, roll bending has certain requirements for the bending radius, which is only applicable to thick-walled pipe with a large radius of curvature, and it can not help with small radius bending. The rolling method and working principle are basically the same as those of sheet metal rolling, except that the roller used for tube rolling has a working surface that matches the cross-sectional shape of the tube blank. When bending, it is only necessary to change the interval between the master and slave rollers to achieve bending of various curvature radii. The roller wheels are driving wheels and the other two are driven wheels. This method is particularly suitable for bending circular or spiral pipe fittings.
